In 1978, Japanese motorcycles manufacturing company Yamaha Motor company started the production of SR400 only in Japan but later in 2014, Yamaha began marketing the motorcycle in Europe, Australia, and the US. The Yamaha SR400 is one of the loved Motorcycle among customizers and owners as it offers endless possibilities for personalization and customization. The SR is world-renowned for its basis as the perfect platform as a Café Racer or Street Tracker machine.
The Yamaha SR400 (2017), a legendary classic, is powered by a 399cc, single-cylinder, two valves, air-cooled, SOHC engine that churns out 27.4 NM of torque at 3000 rpm and which produces a 23 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm.
This bike weighs around 384 pounds and has a slim, narrow, semi-double-cradle steel frame chassis and natural riding position which makes it easier to ride for both newbies as well as experienced enthusiasts.
SR400 has a kick-starter (no electric start). SR400 is equipped with simple, rounded, analog speedometer and tachometer with a stainless steel bezel, fuel low-level indicator, engine-trouble warning, turn signal, neutral, and high beam light indicators. The left-side handlebar controls include hazard, horn, high and low beam control, flash-to-pass switch, and turn indicator controls.
